In May 2026, New American Leaders brought a group of participants to Miami for a program that moved across the city. Instead of one ballroom, the day unfolded on a bus, on the water and at community spaces around Miami — and Creative Soul Studios came along to document every stop.
About the Program
New American Leaders is a national nonprofit that supports new Americans in civic leadership. The Miami program connected participants with local organizers, environmental educators and community leaders, combining site visits with hands-on experiences like a community clean-up.
What We Covered
- Arrivals and the guided bus tour through Miami
- Educational presentations on the water and at waterfront stops
- A hands-on community clean-up
- Visits to cultural and community spaces, with local guides presenting
- Conversations with local leaders and organizers
- Candid moments between participants throughout the day
Photographing an Event That Moves
Multi-venue programs bring their own challenges: changing light from bright sun to bus interiors, tight spaces on boats and buses, and very little time to set up at each stop. We traveled light, worked from the program schedule and stayed with the group from the first stop to the last, so the organization had a complete visual story of the day.

Tips for Photographing a Multi-Location Event
- Share the full itinerary, including transportation, with your photographer
- Plan a seat for the photographer on every bus, van or boat
- Identify the speakers and leaders you need photographed at each stop
- Expect mixed lighting — outdoor sun, shade and interiors in the same hour
- Build in a quick group photo at the most scenic stop
