In 2023, Ronald McDonald House Charities hosted its “Imagine the Possibilities” gala at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center. Creative Soul Studios photographed the evening from the balloon-wall entrance to the last song on the dance floor.
About the Event
A fundraising gala has to do two jobs: celebrate the mission and thank the people who make it possible. The photos need to capture both — the honorees and speakers on stage, and the guests, sponsors and volunteers who filled the room.
What We Covered

How We Approached the Coverage
We met with the event team ahead of time to map the night — arrivals, program, honorees, and the moments the committee most wanted captured. During the event we balanced posed photos of guests and sponsors with candids from the floor, then covered the program from multiple angles so every honoree and speaker was documented. Edited galleries were delivered in a private online gallery, ready for donor thank-yous and social posts.

Tips for Planning a Similar Event
- Send us the honoree, sponsor and VIP list ahead of time
- Plan a sponsor or step-and-repeat photo moment near the entrance
- Keep the stage lit — dramatic uplighting is great, but speakers need light on their faces
- Schedule group photos before dinner, when everyone looks their best
- Decide early which images you need first for donor thank-yous
