Creative Soul Studios photographed environmental headshots for the Wendal team at the company’s home office in Covington, Kentucky — just across the river from downtown Cincinnati — professional portraits that show the people and the workplace together.
Why Environmental Headshots
A traditional headshot uses a plain backdrop. An environmental headshot uses the company’s own space — softly blurred behind the subject — so the photo feels warmer and says something about where the team works. They work especially well for About pages, recruiting, LinkedIn and proposals, where a company wants to look polished and approachable at the same time.
What We Delivered
- Three-quarter-length portraits for every team member
- A consistent look across the team — same location, lighting and framing
- Natural, relaxed posing with light coaching
- Retouched final images ready for the website, LinkedIn and print
- Vertical and horizontal crops for different uses
How We Approached the Session
We scouted the office for a spot with depth and color behind the subject, then set lighting to separate each person from the background while keeping the space recognizable. Every team member was photographed in the same spot with the same settings, so the full set reads as one team. The schedule kept each person in and out in a few minutes, so the session didn’t disrupt the workday.

Tips for Planning On-Site Team Headshots
- Pick a space with depth, like a lounge, hallway or open office, rather than a blank wall
- Share a schedule so team members arrive in short time slots
- Suggest solid colors and avoid busy patterns
- Decide on crops early: website, LinkedIn and print may need different ones
- Plan a make-up day for anyone who misses the session
